How do I make a motorized car?
For science class we have to make a mini car and enter it in the race. It is not a fancy car, it is made out of bamboo sticks, straws four plastic gears and one AAA battery. We made it in class but for extra credit we have to enter it in the race and win. I really want to win this race because I need to pull up my grade. My car already runs but I want to make it faster and more stable. It can only be run by one motor and one AAA battery. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my car faster. Its due tomorrow and I still have a lot of HW to finish. ANY SUGGESTIONS??? please! thanks soo much. (BTW nothing too complicated, I'm in eighth grade...)
The easiest way to increase your speed is to increase the size of the drive wheels. That way for each revolution of the wheels you go farther because of the longer circumference. If you cant find any bigger wheels you can wrap tape around the wheels to make them larger just make sure the wheels are the exact same diameter or the car will turn the direction of the side that has the smaller wheel.
You can also wrap rubber bands around the wheels for more grip and a little more size.
And get rid of any weight that isn't absolutely necessary.
