Why are the brakes to my Ford Mustang squealing?
This past July I bought a 2001 Mustang. A few weeks after I bought the car the brakes began to make a squealing noise and I took the car to the mechanic, and they said that the rotors needed to be resurfaced. I did this and the noise did stop temporarily. However, soon afterwards the brakes began squealing again and have continued to since then. The brakes do not squeal, however, if I press the brake pedal down more than halfway. Is this normal for mustangs? If not what do you suggest I do to stop the squealing noise? This is my first car and I am not an expert on the fineries of brakes.. Any help that will prevent me from having to take it back to the mechanic will be greatly appreciated!
It could be one of many things, whether the pads are worn and the rotors are too will only be determines by a professional technician. I suggest having them looked at sooner rather than later, as brakes are one of the most important parts to having a safe/reliable car.
