i have a kids atv that has a metal frame and was currently powered by a 24 volt electric motor. the motor quit?
working. so my question is what kind of gas motor could i put on it? and how. i know i will need to buy a heavier centrifugal clutch. thanks to all.
The output on that atv is around 4 horsepower. So it would need something in the 100-150cc range otherwise the drivetrain is probably going to fall apart quickly; those engines would be around 6-10 horsepower. Still no guarantees with the smaller engines because it wasn't built to take higher horsepower/torque and if it's using chinese made parts it's probably got sub-par quality parts.
