my kids put our pretty small gold fish in our big pool?
how do I get them out when seeing them is rare and they are only about 1 to maybe 3 inches long. My adorable 11 year old daughter put her fish in the pool. the pool is 4 feet deep and 18 feet around and it has the inflatable ring aroung the top. you know the kind,.how am I going to get them out?
there is no clorine in the pool. and the fish are alive and well, but they are so small I cant find them
by the way the pool will collapse when drained
Drain down as much water as you can - leave only 6" or so in there. Put some of the water you drain off into a plastic bag (like a kitchen trash bag) that you have propped in a bucket, by pulling the top of the bag down around the rim of the bucket. Then hop in the pool, and using two nets (one in each hand), use one net to "herd" the fish into the other net. Use a quick upward scooping motion, and plop them down in the water that is in the bag in the bucket.
The more you watch the pool, the easier it will become to see the fish. Still, those little fish are fast - be prepared to spend a while chasing them down!!
Once you've chased down all the fish and they're all in the bucket, tie off the top of the bag and take it back into your indoor tank and "float" them in (float the bag in the tank water to equalize the temperature, and add a scoop of tank water to the water INSIDE the bag about every ten minutes or so to get the fish used to the indoor tank's water parameters. After about 30 minutes, scoop your fish out of the bag and let them go in the tank).
