4 year old OBSESSED with playing in water & sand - worried!?
A child I work with - 4 year old boy totally obsessed with playing in the sandpit and using water in the sand pit.
He spends as much time as possible playing in the sand and hates it when the water is turned off. The designs he comes up with (includes tubes to create tunnels and pours water through these etc) is amazing (he is quite intelligent - or at least I think so!)
If other kids are in the sand pit he gets along ok with them but gets upset if they try to take over or alter what he is doing in anyway. He does not initiate contact with other children but does not appear to dislike their presence until they interfere in what he is doing.
Thoughts/Ideas????
LOL - Yes - Boys - the more dirt and mess the better!
BUT - would his lack of social interraction be something to be concerned about?
