Why did Yahoo! default avatars go from the smiley face to the silhouetted heads back to the smiley faces?
A few months back, the default avatar went from being a silhouette of a head to the smiley face. Apparently, the smiley face was the original default avatar before the silhouette. I am curious to know...Why did the Yahoo! team switch from the smiley faces to the silhouette of a head back then, and why did they switch it back to the smiley faces a few months back? Is there any reason for the changes?
YA is a bit of a wimp website. They went to the silhouettes when people complained about the plain smiley faces. Then they went back, when the new profile system was introduced, because surprise, everyone was complaining about the silhouettes. There is no pleasing everyone, but like a politician, Yahoo tilts with the breeze.
