Super Soaker CPS Taken Off Market For Being Too Powerful?
Can a toy gun. (such as a water gun) be taken off the market because of being too powerful? I remember the story of the CPS 2000 supposedly popping a kid's eye out and that was the reason for it's discontinuation. While the water gun was not lethal or could inflict serious damage when used right, could it still be taken off the market? I think anyone can kill anyone with anything. Take a baseball bat for example: a person can easily swing a baseball bat (god forbid) at another person's head effectively killing them. But that does not stop baseball bats from being discontinued. The world cannot be made out of foam right?
I'm asking this because I want to start a new business offering more powerful toy guns than the ones that are being offered today because I have noticed that the current market does not sell power enough blasters so children, teens and even adults have to end up modifying them to make them shoot further.
The reason a water gun is taken off the market, as opposed to your example of a baseball bat is because...........
A water gun, although non lethal, is still portrayed to be a weopan visually . Thats why they call it a water GUN. It has a barrel and a trigger.
Where the baseball bat, is not portrayed as a weopan on selling. Its marketed as sporting equipment.
The purpose of the water gun , is to shoot at someone with water
The purpose of a baseball bat is to hit a ball.
Any form of toy, where it shoots a projectile or liquid. Will always come under scrutiny. From the way it performs and its dangers, to the way it is marketed. The ages it is marketed too is also a concern for authorities.
