Which CPs does the K8M800-M2 support, specifically?
Hi:
I have a K8M800-M2 (v1.0) board in my PC. The board is currently hosting an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU with 2x512MB PC3200 RAM.
I noticed that the RAM is not running at 400 MHz, but rather at 333 MHz. I'm assuming that this is because the CPU is clocking it down. I'm confused by this because the CPU clock is at 200 MHz with a 10x multiplier, which would lead me to believe that the RAM would indeed go at 400 MHz.
In any case, the documentation for the board states that it is compatible with AMD's K8 CPUs that fit in Socket 754. Can someone advise me as to which specific CPUs will work? Also, let's say I went with a 3400+, what would the RAM speed be?
See the link:
It kind of answers all the questions.
Make sure in the bios that the ram is set to clock on a one to one ratio with the FSB.
