Do I have a concussion?
I just got hit hard in the head with a basketball a couple of hours ago. I'm not talking a basketball that bounced off the rim. I'm talking some kid threw it as hard as he could (I imagine he was trying to throw it across the gym). I didn't pass out, but I got a mega headache and it's still there. I got hit on the right side of my head and my right eye didn't focus for like five minutes after. Now, a couple hours later, my eye is still kinda funky. Like David Bowie. Is this a mild concussion?
Oh and I had really slurred speech for a couple minutes after.
I don't think it is a mild concussion, you were almost knocked out. The truama of the basketball hitting you has put some things out of order. Sounds like the eyes are re-aligning, but for the headache, take some pain relievers like Tylenol, Extra Strength, and see if that helps. If these same symptoms are still with you tomorrow, better have things checked by your Doctor, or at an ER. Good luck to you young lady.
